Jake Chavez pitched a four-inning no-hitter against Canyon Lake on Thursday at the Comal Baseball Tournament.
Chavez struck out six in the 14-0 victory. Matt Bass hit two singles and a double with two RBIs while Chavez had two singles with five RBIs. Lance Davis hit a single and double with three RBIs. Aaron Escobedo and Eli Trejo each hit two singles.
Snyder took a 5-0 lead after two innings. Bass had an RBI single and double while Chavez hit a 2-run single. Davis hit an RBI single in the third as Snyder increased the lead to 8-0. In a 6-run fourth inning, Chavez and Jarrett Reneau hit 2-run singles, Davis had a 2-run double and Tristan Soliz hit an RBI single.
In an 11-3 win over Segion, Snyder scored nine runs in the third inning. Reneau’s 2-run triple and Bas’; RBI single highlighted the third inning. Chavez hit am RBI double in the fifth.
The Tigers (4-3) were scheduled to play Lehman in New Braunfels at 9:30 a.m. today and Fort Bend Clements at Canyon Lake at 2:30 p.m. Snyder will play one game Saturday.
