Eleven Borden County players were named to the 2018 District 6-1A Division I all-district football team.
Running back Payton Merket was named the district’s offensive player of the year while teammates J.W. Nix and Zane Allen shared the defensive players of the year award. Tommy Kingston was named the newcomer of the year. Trey Richey was named the coach of the year
Seven players were named to the first team — Nix (tight end), Allen (tight end), Will Yarbro (spread center and nose guard), Trey Edwards (quarterback), Cam Edwards (running back, cornerback, kicker), Merket (cornerback), Kingston (safety) and Mason Cole (fullback and defensive lineman).
Kingston (running back), Jeremy Souder (special teams) and Garrett Burns (cornerback) were named to the second team.
Trent Collins was an honorable mention selection at tight end and defensive lineman.
Burns was named an honorable mention receiver.
