Four lady Tigers qualify for state meet

MONAHANS — The Snyder High School girls powerlifting team continued to compete at a high level in the Region 1-4A meet on Saturday, taking second place as a team with 28 points and qualifying four lifters for the state meet.
Both Tegan Dickson and Jaci Valadez won their respective weight classes to claim regional championships.
In the 148-pound weight class, Dickson lifted a total of 975 pounds and led her class in all three of the lifts (squat, bench and deadlift.) Cheyanne Buck of Perryton took second with a total of 840 pounds.
Valadez lifted a total of 765 pounds, winning the 123-pound weight class by more than 100 pounds. She also led her class in all three lifts. Both Valadez and Dickson qualified for the state meet.
Joining them will be senior Bonnie Jasper, who will make her fourth consecutive trip to the state meet, and Raelynn Suarez.
Both finished second in their weight classes at the regional meet.
The four Lady Tigers will travel to Waco on March 20 to compete in the state meet.

132-pound weight class: 3. Sidni Hunter, 750 pounds (315 squat, 145 bench, 290 deadlift)
148-pound weight class: 1. Tegan Dickson, 975 pounds (420 squat, 185 bench, 370 deadlift)
181-pound weight class: 2. Bonnie Jasper, 930 pounds (390 squat, 215 bench, 325 deadlift)
