Although the 2020 Pops Memorial Junior Golf Tournament was cancelled, the 2020 scholarship recipient was named this week.

Kade Hunter, a 2020 Snyder High School graduate, was named this year’s recipient of the Lonnie “Pops” Terry Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who exemplifies high leadership and character.

“Kade represents these qualities and so much more,” tournament founder Karen Terry said. “We are proud to have him represent the Pops.”

The scholarship is named after Lonnie Terry, an avid golfer who died of cancer in September 2011. The golf tournament and scholarship were formed in his honor and Hunter is the ninth recipient of the annual scholarship.
