Western Texas College sophomore baseball player Jonathan LaCourse announced his commitment to West Texas A&M University earlier this week.
LaCourse has been the Westerners’ catcher for the past two seasons and will take his talents to Canyon to play for the Buffaloes.
“Blessed and excited to announce that I’ve committed to continue my academic and baseball career at West Texas A&M University!” LaCourse wrote on Twitter.
In two seasons in Snyder, LaCourse hit .285 with two home runs and 28 RBI in 58 games.
The San Antonio native threw out .362 percent of attempted base stealers and carried a .970 fielding percentage behind the plate.
As a team, the Westerners finished the shortened 2020 season with a 9-11 record.
