Snyder head coach Brad Weese noticed some positives as the Lady Tigers lost to District 2-4A rival Lubbock Estacado 70-35 at Tiger Gym Friday.
“That was our best first quarter in a long time as far as playing with intensity,” Weese said. “We struggled with our shooting, making 4-of-24 during the first half. We had a good start in the second half. Those were the positives for us.”
The Lady Matadors (17-13, 2-1) built an 8-0 lead during the opening four minutes. Alize Conner answered for the Lady Tigers (2-19, 0-3) by scoring a field and later added a free throw to cut the deficit to 8-3 with 3:35 left in the first quarter.
Fabe Dunn’s 3-pointer gave the Lady Matadors an 11-3 lead going into the second quarter.
The Lady Tigers were able to keep the lead to at least seven points behind Conner and Kirstie Pierce for the first part of the second quarter. Estacado used a 22-6 scoring run to take a 37-14 halftime lead.
Estacado led 55-26 at the end of the third quarter and outscored Snyder 15-9 during the fourth quarter.
Conner led Snyder with 20 points. Pierce and Allegra Escobedo each had four points.
Shatorian Wright and Sellah Johnson each scored 16 points for the Lady Matadors.  Dunn added 15 points and Neke Hardrick had 11 points.
