The Snyder Lady Tigers’ golf team is heading back to the regional tournament.
Snyder finished second in the District 2-4A tournament, which ended Tuesday at the Sweetwater Country Club. The Lady Tigers finished the three-round tournament with a 1,095 and trailed only Sweetwater, which shot 1,059.
Snyder’s Courtney Velasquez was third with a three-round score of 245. She finished 12 shots behind district champion Abbey Bryan of Big Spring and five shots behind second place finisher Tailar Anthony of Levelland.
Claire Trieger also recorded a Top 10 finish. She shot 270 and was sixth. Kylie Velasquez finished 11th at 289 while Savanna Porter was 15th at 301.
Three golfers played as individuals for the Lady Tigers. AmyAnn Villanueva was 13th at 295, Laura Ortegon was 14th at 298 and Jalia Williams was 18th at 313.
The regional tournament is scheduled for April 13-14 at Shadow Hills Golf Course in Lubbock.
