Murphy and Gonzales each score 22 in win over Aspermont

The Hermleigh Lady Cardinals basketball team outscored the Aspermont Lady Hornets in every quarter of a 54-29 victory Friday.
Makia Gonzales scored 18 of her total 22 points in the first half as Hermleigh ran away from the Lady Hornets early.
The Lady Cardinals led 32-17 at halftime.
In the second half, the Lady Cardinals relied on Sarah Murphy’s playmaking ability.
The sophomore went 10-11 from the free throw line and scored 16 points in the second half to keep the Lady Cardinal offense rolling. Both Murphy and Gonzales finished the game with 22 points and the Lady Cardinals secured the 54-29 win.
The Lady Cardinals improved to 3-3 on the young season and will travel to face Roby at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
