Seven county basketball players named to TABC all-region teams

Seven Scurry County basketball players were named to their respective all-region teams by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.
Snyder’s Alonzo Wesley, who was the 2019 District 5-4A most valuable player, was named to the Class 4A Region 1 team. He averaged 18 points per game during the 2018-19 season.
Kobe Roemisch of Hermleigh, the District 13-1A most valuable player, and Ira’s Karson Valentine, who was the district’s offensive player of the year, were both named to the Region 2-1A team.
Roemisch averaged 20.4 points per game during district play while Valentine averaged 16 points per game during district play.
Three Hermleigh Lady Cardinals were named to the Region 2-1A team — Makia Gonzales, Sandra Carr and Lillyan Digby. They were joined by Ira’s Madison Peterson.
Gonzales, who was voted the District 13-1A most valuable player, averaged 19.9 points per game during district play this season. Digby averaged 8.1 points while Carr, who was the district’s defensive player of the year, averaged 12.9 points per game.
Peterson was the second leading scorer in the district, averaging 18.2 points per game.
