Seven Snyder players were named to the 2018 District 5-4A all-district baseball team.
Lance Davis was named the pitcher of the year. Davis (5-5) started 11 games and allowed 85 hits, with 41 strikeouts and 15 walks in 71 innings. He had a 3.65 earned run average.
Catcher Bayley Steelman and outfielders Jake Chavez and Eli Trejo were named to the first team. Steelman finished with a .286 batting average with 10 RBIs. Chavez had a .358 batting average with two home runs and 17 RBIs while Trejo had a .246 batting average with 10 RBIs.
Colton Lee and utility player Brody Jasso were second-team infield selection. Lee hit one home run with 16 RBIs and had a .222 batting average. Jasso had a .265 batting average with 10 RBIs.
Designated hitter Ryan Rodriguez was an honorable mention selection. He finished with a .317 batting average with 10 RBIs.
Sweetwater’s Mason Maxwell was named the player of the year. Wylie’s Caleb Murton and Gatlin Martin were selected offensive and defensive players of the year, respectively.
