SJHS volleyball teams sweep Sweetwater

The Snyder Junior High School volleyball teams swept Sweetwater on Thursday.

In the eighth grade matches, Snyder Black beat Sweetwater, 25-17, 25-14. The Gold won in straight sets, 25-11, 25-17.

Alexia Estrada led the Black with seven service points while Baylee Freeman had four service points during the first set. Freeman had five service points during the second set. Victoria Cross and Shelby Salinas recorded four and three service points, respectively.

Caira Galvan and Briana Richburg led the Gold’s attack with seven and five service points, respectively, in the first set. Abby Benitez had two service points and Madison Lieb had one service point. Benitez and Richburg scored seven service points during the second set. Joanie Burns and Ke’Odisty Daniels each had one service point.

The seventh grade Gold lost to Sweetwater in the first set, 27-25, before winning the next two sets, 25-14, 15-8.

Jada James and Myia Braziel had four and three service points, respectively, during the first set. Illiana Madrid, Julie Munoz and Dayzirea Lentz each had one service point.

Braziel had seven service points in the second set. Lentz and James each had four service points. Munoz had three service points and Madrid had one service point.

James and Braziel had six and four service points, respectively, in the third set while Madrid had two service points.

The seventh grade Black defeated Sweetwater in three sets, 25-11, 18-25, 15-9.

Neheva Williams finished with five service points in the first set while Jackie Villarreal and Precious Davis each had four points. Star Castor had three service points. Davis and Analey Juarez had three service points during the second set. Williams and Villarreal each had one service point. Williams and Davis had three and two service points, respectively, in the final set while Villarreal and Juarez each had one service point.
