Snyder’s Corey Landin raced to the finish line during the Western Texas College Invitational cross country meet Saturday. Landin finished fifth in the race and the Snyder Boys won the men’s 5K.
For the second straight meet, Snyder’s Christian Escobedo out-paced the competition to win the Western Texas College Cross Country invitational Saturday.
Escobedos’ time of 17:44 was more than one minute faster than the second place finisher at a 18:54.
Snyder had four runners finish in the top 10, with Corey Landin and Michael Jaramillo taking fifth and sixth place, respectively, while Jeremiah Rodriguez was eighth. As a team, the Snyder boys’ won the event, edging Odessa Permian by one point.
Ira’s boys were paced by Lexton Hernandez, who finished 13th with a time of 21:37.
Kimberly Cortes led the way for the Snyder girls with a time of 16:02 which earned her 13th place.
Taryn Nobles was 16th a time of 16:20.
