For the second straight meet, Snyder’s Christian Escobedo out-paced the competition to win the Western Texas College Cross Country invitational Saturday.
Escobedos’ time of 17:44 was more than one minute faster than the second place finisher at a 18:54.
Snyder had four runners finish in the top 10, with Corey Landin and Michael Jaramillo taking fifth and sixth place, respectively, while Jeremiah Rodriguez was eighth. As a team, the Snyder boys’ won the event, edging Odessa Permian by one point.
Ira’s boys were paced by Lexton Hernandez, who finished 13th with a time of 21:37.
Kimberly Cortes led the way for the Snyder girls with a time of 16:02 which earned her 13th place.
Taryn Nobles was 16th a time of 16:20.
