Snyder cross country competes in Lubbock

Snyder cross country runner Christian Escobedo continued his streak of first place finishes in the Lubbock ISD Invitational Saturday.
Escobedo won with a time of 16:32, helping lead his team to a fourth place finish overall in the boys’ 5000-meter race.
Escobedo was Snyder’s only top 10 finisher, but Corey Landin was 11th with a time of 17:32. Jeremiah Rodriguez’s 17:35 earned him 13th.
As a team, the Snyder boys finished fourth out of 14 teams at the event, finishing behind Dumas, Perryton and Andrews.
In the girls’ 2-mile run, Taryn Nobles was the Lady Tigers’ leading runner with a time of 15:06 for a 60th place finish. Kim Cortes finished five spots back with a time of 15:17.
Up next for the Snyder cross country teams is the Anson meet at the Anson Country Club, will will begin at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
