Snyder freshmen defeat Sweetwater

SWEETWATER —The Snyder freshman football team evened its season record at 2-2 with a 22-6 victory over Sweetwater at the Mustang Bowl Thursday.

Logan Greene ran for the first touchdown and completed the two-point conversion pass to J.J. Burns. Bobby Sanderson scored two rushing touchdowns. Greene ran for a two-point conversion.

Sanderson recovered two fumbles and Julian Flores had an interception to lead the defensive effort. 

On special teams, Julian Rodriquez blocked a punt.

Coach David Tate said the offensive and defensive lines played well. Nathan Wright, Cesar Valdez, Matthew Porter, Marcus Rocha, John Flores and Talon Vandygriff played on the offensive line. Rodriquez, Alejandro Jaimes, Nathan Wright and Aliser Mata played on the defensive line.

JV

The Snyder JV (2-2) lost to Sweetwater, 40-26.

No statistics were available at press time.

Snyder will play at Midland Greenwood Thursday. The freshman game will start at 5:30 p.m., followed by the JV at 7 p.m.
