Snyder golfers closing in on district title

The Snyder Tiger golf team will not have to travel far for the final round of the District 2-4A tournament on Monday.
Snyder will host the final round at the Sammy Baugh Golf Course on the campus of Western Texas College.
The Tigers have a 29-shot lead over Big Spring in the team standings and the top two teams will advance to the regional tournament, which will be held April 11-12 at Shadow Hills Golf Course in Lubbock.
Snyder held a 10-shot lead after the first round by shooting 314 at the Lamesa Municipal Golf Course. On Wednesday, Snyder shot 313 during the second round at Shadow Hills.
All five varsity players are in the Top 10 after two rounds.
Logan Presley (77-79) has the lowest score at 156 and is in fourth place. Also in the Top 10 are Jake Leatherwood (77-80—157) and Jay Ramos (79-78—157), tied for fifth place, Clayton Galyean (81-78—159), seventh place, and Kyle Shrum (86-78—164), ninth place.
The Snyder JV is in fourth place with a two-round score of 713. The JV shot 360 in the first round and 353 in the second round.
Will Lavers (84-86), who is 10th after two rounds, has the lowest score at 170. Patrick Rodriguez (82-90) is 11th at 172 and Devin Bynum (97-88) is 19th at 185. Jax Weaver (100-89—189) and Alex Luecke (97-96—193) are 23rd and 27th, respectively.
John Gilbert (98-96—194), who is playing as an individual, is 28th.
