Snyder JV falls to Rangers

GREENWOOD — The Snyder JV football team lost to Midland Greenwood 21-12 on Thursday.
Eric Braziel put the Tigers (2-3) on the board with a 60-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Snyder trailed 7-6 after missing a two-point conversion.
Greenwood increased its lead to 14-6, but the Tigers reached the end zone before halftime. Avian Gutierrez returned an interception 57 yards for a touchdown. Snyder trailed 14-12 at halftime.
The Rangers scored the only points during the second half on a touchdown extra point kick in the fourth quarter.
Freshmen
The Snyder freshman team (2-3) lost to Greenwood, 27-12.
Bryan Rivas passed 40 yards to Jake Chavez for a touchdown. J.J. Burns had a 15-yard scoring run.
Timothy Sosa led the defense with two interceptions.
“Roland Morin played well on defense,” coach David Tate said.  “We had too many penalties and turnovers.”
Both Snyder teams will host Shallowater on Thursday. The freshman game will start at 5 p.m., followed by the JV at 7 p.m.
