It’s the ladies turn to shine in this week’s installment of The Snyder News All-Decade series, as we take a look at the best volleyball players for the Lady Tigers since 2010.
First Team
Natalee James
2016-2019

A multi-sport star, James quickly became one of the better players on the Lady Tiger squad, earning all-district honorable mention honors in her freshman season. She went on to put together one of the best volleyball careers in recent Snyder High School history.
Building on her debut season in 2016, James established herself as one of the best players in the district, earning first team honors as a sophomore. During her junior season the whole state learned who James was. She recorded 30 kills, 89 service aces, 43 blocks and 63 digs en route to being named the district’s Offensive Player of the Year and earning all-state recognition.
Her senior season was even better. James recorded 259 kills, 23 blocks and 211 digs and led the Lady Tiger program to its first district championship in 20 years. James was named the district MVP and was named to the all-state team for the second year in a row.
James will continue her athletic career at Hardin-Simmons University where she is committed to play basketball.
Hailey Morris
2013-2016

A four year starter, Morris was a consistent force for the Lady Tiger program from 2013 to 2016. As a freshman, Morris earned all-district honorable mention, setting the stage for the next three years. As a sophomore, Morris recorded 131 kills, 390 digs and 20 blocks. Her ability to be a threat as a striker and a reliable defensive play made her a valuable player for the Lady Tigers.
Morris was named first team all-district three times.

Kendra Bynum
2018-2019

Another member of the 2019 district championship team, Bynum was the Lady Tigers’ main setter in 2018 and 2019. She played a big part in the success of teammates’ Natalee James, Kamiah Davis and Kate McWilliams, setting up the group of strikers as the Lady Tigers went 25-15 and claimed the program’s first district title in 20 years.
Bynum was twice named first team all-district and recorded 61 kills, 109 service points and 13 blocks as a junior. In her two years as the team’s setter, the Lady Tigers went 43-32.
Laura Reigh
2010

A multi-year starter, Reigh’s senior season in 2010 landed her a spot on our list. She was nothing short of dominant as a senior, excelling as a defender and on the offensive side as well.
Reigh was named the district Blocker of the Year after recording 108 blocks and 214 digs. While she was recognized for her defensive efforts, offensively she recorded 412 kills, 47 aces and 310 assists.
Following her career at Snyder High School, Reigh played at Odessa College and finished her career at Blinn College.
Heather Medrano
2010-2012

Medrano started for the Lady Tigers from 2010 to 2012 and while she earned all-district honorable mentions as a junior and a senior, her best season came her sophomore year in 2010. Alongside her teammate, Laura Reigh, Medrano was a part of one of the best defensive teams the Lady Tigers have fielded in the past decade.
In her sophomore season, Medrano recorded 368 digs, 19 kills and 46 service aces. She finished her career with three all-district accolades.
Second Team
Chelsea Lambaren
2013-2014

Lambaren made the most of her two years as starter for the Lady Tigers in 2013 and 2014.
As a junior, Lambaren earned first team all-district honors as a middle hitter. In her senior season, Lambaren recorded 129 digs, 81 kills and 27 blocks, earning second team all-district honors.
Kerrington Biggers
2014-2017

A four-year starter, Biggers was a defensive-minded player. In her freshman season, she recorded 300 digs and 88 kills, earning all-district honorable mention. She went on to earn all-district accolades four times, including back-to-back second team honors in 2016 and 2017.
Abby Benitez

Just the second active player to appear in the All-Decade series, Benitez has already put together an impressive career in her freshman and sophomore seasons. After being named the district’s Newcomer of the Year in 2018, Benitez became one of the better players in the region as a sophomore.
