Tigers defeat Caprock at Shallowater Tournament

LUBBOCK — Lance Davis hit a single and 2-run home run in Snyder’s 10-6 win over Amarillo Caprock at the Shallowater Baseball Tournament Friday.

Snyder took the lead with four runs in the top of the first inning on Davis’ home run and Colton Lee’s 2-run double.

Caprock scored two runs in the first and fourth innings to tie the game at 4-4.

The Tigers scored six runs in the fifth, highlighted by Aaron Escobedo’s RBI single and Davis’ sacrifice fly.

Caprock’s final two runs were scored in the seventh.

Matt Bass picked up the win by allowing four runs on four hits with eight strikeouts in four innings.

Snyder (2-1) was scheduled to play Hereford at 10 a.m. today in Shallowater and Andrews at 3 p.m. at Lubbock Estacado.
