Tigers fall to Stamford in tournament championship game

STAMFORD — The Snyder Tigers finished second at the Stamford Basketball Shootout with the 43-36 loss to Stamford on Saturday.
Stamford led 14-3 at the end of the first quarter and 18-14 at halftime. The Tigers tied the game at 29-29 going into the fourth quarter.
Dralon Jackson scored 24 points.
The Tigers (11-2) will play at San Angelo Lake View today.

Hooptown Tournament
STANTON — Snyder lost to District 2-4A rival Sweetwater 41-39 in the consolation bracket of the Stanton Hooptown Tournament on Saturday.
The Lady Tigers led 12-6 after the first quarter and 23-18 at halftime. Snyder went into the fourth quarter leading 35-30. Sweetwater outscored the Lady Tigers 11-4 in the fourth quarter.
Alize Conner scored 19 points while Kirsti Pierce had six points.
The Lady Tigers (1-11) will play at Brownfield Tuesday.

Cougar Classic
KLONDIKE — The Hermleigh Lady Cardinals lost to Klondike 47-27 in the championship game of the Klondike Cougar Classic.
Hermleigh defeated Water Valley 61-36 in the semifinals.
Aaliyah Sneed scored eight points against Klondike while Kelsey Digby added six points.
No individual scoring against Water Valley was available.
The Lady Cardinals (6-4) will play at Coahoma Tuesday.

Boys
KLONDIKE — Kyler Roemisch and Dylan Randolph scored in double figures as the Hermleigh Cardinals defeated the Forsan JV 54-44 in the third-place game of the Klondike Cougar Classic.
Roemisch had a game-high 22 points while Randolph had 14 points.
The Cardinals (6-3) will play at Coahoma Tuesday.

Blackland Divide Tournament
ROSCOE — The Ira Bulldogs concluded the Blackland Divide Tournament by defeating Rotan 41-29 in the consolation bracket.
Kaven Dillard led Ira with 13 points while Anthony Sosa had 11 points.
The Bulldogs (3-7) will play at Spur Tuesday.

Ira JV Tournament
IRA — The Ira Lady Bulldog JV team won two of three games at the Ira JV Tournament on Saturday.
Ira defeated the Roscoe JV 36-18 and the Snyder JV Black, 39-26. The Lady Bulldogs lost to the Forsan JV, 26-18. The Lady Bulldogs finished second at the tournament.
Abby Manning scored 14 points against Roscoe while Raven McCowen added 11 points.
Manning, Emily McCowen, Karina Cowan and Raven McCowen each scored four points against Forsan.
Manning scored 13  points against Snyder.
Jordan Phillips and Angela Murillo each had 10 points for the Lady Tigers.
The Snyder JV Black defeated the Forsan JV 33-28 and the Roscoe JV 36-19 to claim third place.
Phillips scored 10 points against Forsan. Murillo had 16 points in the win over Roscoe.
