This week The Snyder News All-Decade series focuses on the best Ira and Hermleigh softball players since 2010.

First Team

Kelsey Digby

Hermleigh (2014 to 2017)

In her four-year career Digby earned three individual district awards and two all-state selections as she led the Lady Cardinal program to three straight playoff appearances.

After being named the district’s Newcomer of the Year as a freshman, she became the Lady Cardinals’ ace on the mound in 2015. In 55 innings, she went 7-1 and recorded 49 strikeouts to just 17 walks in district play. 

Digby was the district Player of the Year both as a sophomore and a junior. In her senior season, the Lady Cardinals went 15-2 with Digby on the mound and she earned her second all-state selection. 

Cenna Lane

Ira (2013 to 2016)

Lane was named the district’s Pitcher of the Year as a freshman in 2013 and then earned first-team honors in 2014. As a junior, she struck out 16 batters in 11 innings of district play and hit .529 with 29 RBIs.

She continued her two-way success as a senior. She went 11-6 on the mound and was named the district MVP. She was also selected to the all-state team.

Taylor Porter

Hermleigh (2013 to 2015)

Porter was the Lady Cardinals’ go-to run producer during her career.

As a senior, she hit .586 with a home run, seven doubles and 17 RBIs. She was named the district’s co-Offensive Player of the Year.

Porter was first team all-district all three years of her Hermleigh career.

Savannah Juarez

Ira (2013 to 2016)

Another member of the 2017 class, Juarez’s best year came her junior season.

After earning first team all-district honors as a freshman and Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore, Juarez was a force at the plate as a junior. She finished the 2015 season with a .586 batting average, seven home runs, 11 doubles, nine triples, 28 RBIs and 22 stolen bases.

She earned all-state honors her junior season and finished her career with three individual district awards.

Lillyan Digby

Hermleigh (2016 to 2019)

As a junior, Digby was the district’s defensive player of the year.

She was selected to the all-state team as a senior after she hit .580 with 14 doubles and maintained a perfect fielding percentage. In her four years as a starter, the Lady Cardinals made the playoffs all four years and won three district titles.

Brienna Robertson

Hermleigh (2016 to 2017)

Robertson started for the Lady Cardinals for two seasons.

After earning first team all-district honors as a junior, Robertson was named the district MVP and earned all-state honors as a senior after she hit .588 in 2017. She served as the primary catcher for the 2017 Lady Cardinals that went 20-2 and won a district championship.

Second Team

Aaliyah Sneed

Hermleigh (2015 to 2017)

A three-year varsity starter, Sneed played first base for the Lady Cardinals.

She was a first-team all-district selection as a junior in 2016 and hit .597 and maintained a perfect fielding percentage as a senior. She was named the Defensive Player of the Year in 2017 and finished her career with three all-district selections.

Priscilla DeLuna 

Ira (2011 to 2014)

DeLuna started all four years of her high school career for the Lady Bulldogs.

She was named the district’s Newcomer of the Year as a freshman in 2011 and went on to make back-to-back second team all-district in 2012 and 2013. As a senior, DeLuna led the way offensively for the Lady Bulldogs and was named the district’s Offensive Player of the Year.

Lindsey Womack

Ira (2015 to 2018)

Womack became a starter after she hit .600 as a freshman in 2015. 

She made back-to-back all-state teams in 2017 and 2018 and hit .379 with 17 RBIs and 14 stolen bases as a senior in 2018. She was a four time all-district selection.
