Two athletes, coach, state championship teams will be inducted into Snyder Athletic Hall of Honor

Two athletes, two state championship teams and an assistant coach will be inducted into the Snyder High School Athletic Hall of Honor at Martha Ann Woman’s Club Oct. 13.

The athletes are Harley Bynum, who played football, basketball and baseball, and competed in track and field, and the late Bud Morgan, who played football and competed in track and field. Morgan was a coach for 38 years.

The 1981 and 1982 volleyball teams will also be inducted. Members of the 1981 team were Shauna Pate, Lisa Cobb, Shana Koonsman, Kelly Dryden, Ann Melton, Toni Elrod, Tina Cannon, Lynne Robertson, Kerstin Selmon, Sherri Rich, Sherry Mayes, Kathy Northcott, Sabrine Robinson and Becky Harrell. Members of the 1982 team were Becky Pylant, Sherri Rich, Shana Koonsman, Lisa Waller, Toni Elrod, Tonya Neblett, Susie Lee, Shahale Blair, Kathy Northcott, Becky Harrell, Sabrina Robinson and Lynne Robertson. Both teams were coached by Joyce Elrod and Patti Grimmett was the assistant coach.

Longtime coach Tommy Doyle will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. Doyle coached football, basketball and track and field.

Tickets, which are $25, will be go on sale in the near future at the Snyder Chamber of Commerce, AimBank or from hall of honor board members.
