Westerner golfers tied for lead at NJCAA tournament

MELBOURNE, Fla. — The Western Texas College Westerners made history at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) men’s golf tournament on Wednesday.
WTC (285-282—567) tied McLennan Community College (290-277—567) for the tournament lead at the end of the second round. 
Elliott Fullalove and Jordan Flynn shot 69 to help WTC gain a share of the lead.
Fullalove (70-69—139) is tied for fourth place while Flynn (84-69—153) improved by 15 shots from his opening round and is tied for 81st place.
Tucker Tovar and Tate McVay were among the top 20. Tovar (70-73—143) is tied for 14th and McVay (72-72–144) was 16th. Piers Berrington (73-72—145) was tied for 22nd.
WOMEN
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The Western Texas College Lady Westerners were seventh after three rounds of the women’s national tournament.
WTC (332-335-334—1001) finished the suspended second round and played the third round at the LPGA International Golf Club Hills Course on Wednesday.
Emily Coleman (81-82-76—239) held 22nd place while Sofia Alvarez (76-80-86—242) was tied for 23rd and Kayla Bartley (85-85-84—254) was tied for 36th. Sydney Bowman (90-94-88—272) and Sarah Falcon (90-88-85—273) were 59th and 60th, respectively.
