LUBBOCK — The Western Texas College Westerners finished second at the Lubbock Christian University Golf Tournament this week.
WTC shot rounds of 298, 283 and 294 for a tournament score of 875 at the Rawls Golf Course.
Elliott Fullalove (76-69-71) and Piers Berrington (73-69-74) tied for seventh place with 216. Jordan Flynn (73-73-72) shot 218 and tied for 10th place while playing as an individual.
Tucker Tovar (79-70-76—225), Tate McVay (75-78-73—226) and Jakeb Mikel (74-75-79—228) rounded out the team scoring.
“It was a good tournament with three players finishing among the top 10,” head coach Todd Selders said. “We are ready to approach a very important stretch of tournaments.” 
Women
POTTSBORO — The Western Texas College Lady Westerners finished sixth with a 335 at the Texas A&M-Commerce Texoma Invitational on Monday.
Sofia Alvarez and Emily Coleman tied for ninth place in the individual standings by shooting 81. Sydney Bowman shot 84 and was tied for 20th.
McKenna Henderson (89), Kayla Bartley (91) and Sarah Falcon (95) rounded out the team scoring.
Tuesday’s second round was cancelled due to rain.
