Westerners win Lubbock Christian Classic

LUBBOCK — In the final Western Texas College athletics action of the year, the WTC men’s golf team won the Lubbock Christian University Classic at the Rawls Golf Course in Lubbock last week.
The Westerners came out on top of a field that included several four-year universities.
Sophomore Jake Leatherwood, of Snyder, led the Westerners with a total score of 210 and finished as the individual runner-up.
Freshman Tafadzwa Nyamukondiwa shot a 216 and freshmen Callum Tibbs and Clement Cattaeu both finished under 230.
Tibbs shot a 220, Cattaeu shot a 223 and Ryan Hedges shot a 240.
The regional tournament was set for April 20, but the NJCAA cancelled all spring sports, ending the Westerners’ season.
