The Western Texas College Men’s basketball team beat Loyalty Prep Saturday, 102-55.
It was the Westerners second straight win to start 2020 and their final game before opening conference play.
Six different Westerners reached double digit scoring in the win.
The Westerners opened the game on a 7-0 run, including four points from sophomore Donovan Reagan.
Reagan stayed hot over the next few minutes, nailing a 3 and pair of dunks as WTC built an early 15-8 lead.
The Westerners extended the lead with an 8-0 run, including freshman Miles Bennett’s five points.
WTC hit nine 3-pointers in the first half, helping them build a 52-36 lead.
During the second half, WTC turned up the pressure defensively, limiting Loyalty Prep to 19 points.
Sophomore Corey Thelisme connected on four 3-pointers and led the Westerners with his 12 points as they scored more than 100 points for the fourth time this season.
Both the men and women Westerners open up WJCAC play today with home games against Midland College beginning at 5:45 p.m. at The Coliseum.
