WTC sweeps doubleheader against Frank Phillips

The Western Texas College Lady Westerner softball team swept a doubleheader against Frank Phillips College Friday at United Field.
WTC won the first game 11-0 behind Lindsay Blattman’s four-hitter. In the nightcap, the Lady Westerners claimed a 9-1 win.
In the first game, WTC scored three runs in the first, two in the second and two in the third to build a 7-0 lead. A four-run fourth inning helped the Lady Westerners end the game in the fifth on the 10-run rule.
Kawena Cabrera collected three hits in the game.
In the second game, Cabrera had four hits while Naudia Gonzalez had three hits.
WTC led 5-0 after three innings and added two runs in the fourth and one in the sixth.
Brooke Berding and Rachel Gawdun combined on a six-inning two hitter.
The Lady Westerners will host El Paso Community College beginning at 1 p.m. Friday.
