Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts from throughout the region will fish in the Towle Park pond Saturday during the 22nd annual Snyder fish-a-thon.

Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and fishing will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The pond was stocked with channel catfish this week and fishing has been closed to the public.

The cost is $5 per person and all proceeds will benefit programs provided by the Buffalo Trails Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

For Saturday only, a person will not be required to have a fishing license to participate in the event.

Scouts and their families will be camping overnight today, organizers said. Campers are  required to uphold the values of the Scout Oath and the Scout Law while camping, said organizer James Bond.
