Edith Louise Matlock, 91, passed away on November 29.
Mrs. Matlock was born on August 10, 1932 in Mitchell County to Marvin and Nettie (Iglehart) Cherry. She married V.W. “Matt” Matlock on March 19, 1949, in Mitchell County. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2012. She was a member of Christian Temple. She Loved the Lord, her family and was a devoted Pastor’s wife for over thirty years.
She was preceded in death by Parents; Husband; Sisters, Delores Lelek, Nellie Matlock and Marcelene Hubbard; Grandson, Kevin Blake Matlock; Daughter-in-law, Kate Matlock; Brothers-in-law, Emmett Matlock, Lee Matlock, Jim Matlock and John Matlock; Sisters-in-law, Ruby Lou Honea and Lavern Fox; and Grandson-in-law, Donovan Harvey.
She is survived by her Sons, Gary Matlock of Colorado City and Bobby Matlock and wife Teresa of Colorado City; Daughters, Vera Jean Morris and husband Bobby of Colorado City and Brenda Chambers and Richard of Snyder; eight Grandchildren; 25 Great-Grandchildren; and nine Great-Great-Grandchildren with one on the way; Brother-in-law, Benny Matlock and wife Theresa of Belen, NM; and Sister-in-law, Glynith Matlock of Brownwood.
Family Visitation was December 4 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Christian Temple. Funeral services were December 5 at 2 p.m. at Christian Temple with Associate Pastor, Chip Hubbard and Associate Pastor, Jeremy Strain officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home at Dorn Cemetery.
