Rosa Lee Crow

1936-2023

Mrs. Rosa Lee Crow, 87, of Snyder passed away on October 29 in Snyder at GoodLife Senior Living.

Mrs. Crow was born on April 29, 1936, in Baird to James and Lorene (Poindexter) Franklin.  She married Wayne Crow on April 23, 1955. He preceded her in death February 24, 1994.

Mrs. Crow loved the Lord and was a long-time member of the Colonial Hill Baptist Church and the Love Sunday School Class. Over the years, she was a homemaker, beauty operator, and a department head at Wal-Mart.

Mrs. Crow loved family and enjoyed family get-togethers as evidenced by the thousands of pictures she possessed. She also loved researching genealogy.  Mrs. Crow was an avid quilter.  In her volunteer service at the Scurry County Senior Center, she helped sew many quilts with the ladies at the center. She loved spending time at the center. In 2022, Mrs. Crow had the most volunteer hours at the center.

She was preceded in death by her Parents; her Husband; and her Son, James Wayne Crow.

Mrs. Crow is survived by Son, Kenneth Lee Crow and Wife Nancy of Abilene; Daughter, Melynda Anne Sturdevant and Husband Chris of Amarillo; Sister, Doris Henderson and Husband A.J. of Snyder; Brothers, E.L. Franklin and Wife Linda of Snyder and Don Franklin and Wife Zelph of Snyder; Daughter-in-Law, Marie Crow of Grannis, AR; Nine Grandchildren; and 11 Great-Grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Crow will be held November 3 at 11 a.m. at Bell-Cypert-Seale Chapel with Pastor Reid Johnson of Colonial Hill Baptist Church officiating.  Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Butch Elam

1942-2023

Mr. Butch Elam, 81, of Ira passed away on October 30 at his home in Ira.

Butch Elam was born on June 16, 1942 in Ochelata, OK to Richard and Birdie(Coonfield) Elam. He married Dorma Bennett on Wednesday, June 12, 1963 in Snyder.

Butch Elam moved to Ira in 1952, and in his time dedicated 29 years of service and work to Calley and Fowler as a backhoe operator. He was well known for his operating skills and for his precision when digging a ditch or finding an underground pipeline without damaging them. After his time with the company he found joy being surrounded by his grandkids, and great-grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Henry Elam and Mother Birdie Pierce(Coonfield); His wife, Dorma Elam(Bennet); Brothers, Pete Elam, Tom Elam, Joe Elam and Jerry Elam.

He is survived by his daughter, Carolynn Botts and Husband Billy of Ira; Two Sons, Charles Elam and Jimmy Elam and Wife Lynda; Brother, Jack Elam; Eight grandchildren; Many Great-Grandchildren; and his Great Aunt, Emma Lou Gray

No services are planned at this time for Mr. Butch Elam. Arrangements are provided by Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
