The Board of County Development (BCD) will consider raising the reimbursement it pays to businesses participating in the Business Improvement Initiative Program (BIIP) Wednesday.
BIIP provides up to $1,000 for Scurry County businesses that spend at least $2,000 on exterior improvements to their property, BCD Chairperson Chloanne Lindsey said.
No set amount for the proposed increase has been discussed.
In other business Wednesday, the board will consider $2,733 to the Snyder Chamber of Commerce as a share of covering the costs of the Fourth of July fireworks, buying an ad for the upcoming Snyder Daily News’ Community and Visitors Guide and recently received applications for BIIP grants.
Those items were scheduled to be voted on by the board in June, but the meeting was canceled because of the lack of a quorum.
The board also will discuss possible future agenda items.
Wednesday’s meeting will begin at 8 a.m. in the third floor courtroom of the county courthouse. It is open to the public and time has been set aside for public comment on non-agenda items.
