Due to scheduling conflicts, the Big Country Electric Cooperative’s Government in Action Youth Speech Tour contest will be held Wednesday.
The contest was originally scheduled for tonight. It will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the cooperative’s Roby office.
Ira High School’s Sabrina Highfield will compete against Matthew Ramirez, Elle-Kaye Terry and Autumn Cleveland, all of Roby, Mollie Hagler of Anson and Bryanna Birdsong of Stamford.
Each student will give a 10-minute speech on the topic “How would your life change if electricity no longer existed?”
The top three finishers will represent the cooperative on the Youth Tour, which is a 10-day, all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. in June.
