The Board of County Development unanimously approved reimbursing $800 to Lynn Fuller and the Triangle Sinclair Station as part of the board’s business facade improvement grant program today.
The painting and facade improvements at the Triangle Sinclair Station totaled $1,593. Work was completed on Monday and Fuller presented receipts to the board. Fuller requested $796.50 in reimbursement. Board member Mike Tyrrell made a motion to approve $800 in funding. The motion carried unanimously.
The board also discussed possible future locations for the county’s “Earth cam,” which has not been functioning recently. Board chairman Wade Warren said he had talked with Scurry County Judge Ricky Fritz about possibly moving the camera from the downtown square to the Towle Park pavilion. Warren said other towns similar in size to Snyder have had their video streams in parks.
Tyrrell said he was not opposed to the idea, but questioned whether that would fall under the category of county development.
“I don’t doubt the benefits of it, I just wonder if it falls under our umbrella?” Tyrrell asked.
Warren said he felt like it did.
Because the topic was only listed as a discussion item on the agenda, no action was taken.
