Risen, an epic Biblical story of the Resurrection, as told through the eyes of a non-believer, opens a two-week run at Snyder Cinema today.
Admission will be free as Calvary Baptist Church, in partnership with wakeupworld.com, is sponsoring the movie’s screening in Snyder.
“No one has an excuse not to go,” Calvary’s Steve Highfield said. “We encourage everyone to see the movie and encourage your friends to come also.”
Calvary and wakeupworld.com previously offered free screenings of God’s Not Dead in Snyder.
“There was a good response to that movie and we hope people turn out for Risen also,” Highfield said.
In Risen, Joseph Fiennes plays Clavius, a Roman military tribune, and Tom Felton portrays his aide, Lucius.
The pair is tasked with solving the mystery of what happened to Jesus in the weeks following the crucifixion in order to disprove the rumors of a risen Messiah and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem.
