All seven candidates running for county commissioner and sheriff are required by state law to file campaign finance reports. Those reports are due in County Clerk Melody Appleton’s office on Jan. 15, 30 days before the election and 8 days before the election.
In the race for Scurry County Sheriff, two of the three candidates had not filed their 8-day reports.
Neither Trey Wilson or Raymond Guzman’s 8-day report had been filed Thursday.
Jeanette Pritchard’s 8-day report showed $30,100 in contributions, including $30,000 from an individual in Verhalen, and $50,110 in expenses.
All three candidates reported expenses on their 30-day reports, but only two reported receiving contributions.
Guzman did not report any contributions while Wilson received $1,025 from two individuals in Scurry County and Pritchard reported $100 in contributions.
On those reports, the candidates reported $94, $124 and $12,354 in expenses, respectively.
On their Jan. 15 reports, Wilson reported $1,250 in contributions from two individuals in Scurry County and $449 in expenses.
Pritchard reported $200 in contributions of less than $50 and $19,999 in expenses.
Guzman reported $200 contributions of less than $50 and $368 expenses.
In the race for county commissioner of Pct. 1, Terry Williams reported $1,155 in expenditures and $453 in contributions on his Jan. 15 report.
He filed the other two reports, which did not show any contributions or expenses.
On his Jan. 15 report, Bob May $1,774 in expenditures and $2,525 in contributions, from three individuals in Scurry County.
He had not filed the 30-day or 8-day reports as of Thursday.
In the race for county commissioner of Pct. 3, Shawn McCowen showed $2,573 in expenses on his Jan. 15 report and no contributions. His 30-day report showed $254 in expenses and no contributions.
His 8-day report showed $494 in expenses and no contributions.
Dennis Poole’s Jan. 15 report showed no contributions and $2,833 expenses. His 30-day report showed $254 in expenses and $0 in contributions.
His 8-day report showed $1,569 in expenses and no contributions.
