Scurry County commissioners voted today to withhold the final $210,914 due to Lone Wolf Construction for the company’s work on the Cavendar Road truck bypass.
Pct. 1 Commissioner Terry Williams said he believed the county should keep the money and make repairs to the road that has been the subject of complaints.
Pct. 2 Commissioner Marianne Randals voted against withholding the money.
The county will send Lone Wolf a letter stating it would make no further payments and that Lone Wolf would be relieved of any warranty on the road.
In a related matter, the court certified $384,339 in additional revenue from the Texas Department of Transportation from the project’s original grant.
The court will open bids on Dec. 20 for grounds maintenance at the Scurry County Golf Course, and accepted a $913,700 bid to repair county building roofs.
Scurry Judge Ricky Fritz said the approval was contingent on the bid’s acceptance by the county’s insurance company.
