DCOS board to hold Saturday workshop

The Development Corporation of Snyder (DCOS) board of directors will hold a rare Saturday meeting to discuss the local economy.
The DCOS board will immediately convene into closed session to deliberate the purchase, exchange, lease or value of real property.
When it returns to open session the board will discuss target industries, including manufacturing, industrial, warehousing, call centers and agriculture, as well as energy and healthcare.
The board will also discuss strengths, weaknesses or obstacles, opportunities and growth potential and threats; before moving on to consider what the DCOS has to offer in terms of finances, land, recruiting, retention and expansion, community development, entrepreneurship and workforce development.
The board will also talk about plans for their January 11 meeting that will focus on implementation, recruiting, retention/expansion, community development and workforce development.
Saturday’s meeting will begin at 8 a.m. in the DCOS office at 2514 Ave. R and is open to the public.
