• Arrests
Two people were arrested at 5:45 p.m. Sunday on U.S. Hwy. 84, at mile marker 408. Shunda Kaye Baker, 47, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, no driver’s license and no insurance. Craig Allen Lawson, 55, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A 23-year-old male was arrested on the Allsup’s parking lot in Hermleigh on warrants for possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to maintain financial responsibility, displaying an expired registration, no driver’s license and no seat belt.
At 7:15 p.m. Sunday, a 39-year-old male was arrested in the 1900 block of 29th Street for public intoxication.
• Burglaries
A vehicle was broken into at Comfort Inn and Suites, according to a call at 6:46 a.m. Saturday.
At 12:17 p.m. Saturday, a person in the 2700 block of Ave. F reported that a firearm and PlayStation were stolen from his residence.
A phone was reported stolen from a student at Snyder Junior High School at 12:54 p.m. Saturday.
At 3:16 p.m. Saturday, a purse was reported stolen from a vehicle on the Varsity Square Shopping Center parking lot.
• Theft
A shoplifter was reported at Walmart Supercenter at 12:50 a.m. today.
• Fight
A fight was reported at 11:25 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of Ave. X. Police were unable to locate anyone fighting in the area.
• Criminal mischief
A residence in the 2800 block of Ave. Q was egged, according to a call at 3:16 p.m. Sunday.
• Water leaks
Water leaks were reported at 2:26 p.m. Saturday in the 4600 block of College Ave. and at 6:20 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of 31st Street. The Snyder Water Department was notified of each leak.
• Accidents
A truck drove into the Towle Park pond at 9:59 p.m. Saturday. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle and did not request an accident report.
A vehicle hit a deer in the 6000 block of Block Line Road, according to a call at 6:08 p.m. Sunday.
• Animal concerns
A person called law enforcement at 10:23 a.m. Saturday to report a dog did not have shelter in the 2400 block of Ave. X.
A calf was loose on Hwy. 208, according to a call at 7:35 a.m. Sunday.
• Fire
A controlled burn was called in at 4:42 p.m. Saturday from the 500 block of German Street in Hermleigh.
• Loud music
Loud music was reported at 12:04 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of 34th Street, at 1:58 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of 36th Place and at 1:05 a.m. today in the 4100 block of Brick Plant Road.
• Weekend blotter notes
Scurry County EMS responded to four medical calls.
Seven non-accident, traffic-related calls were received.
Two alarms were reported.
Six welfare checks were requested.
One close patrol was requested.
Law enforcement responded to five civil issues.
Five 911 hang-up calls were received.
