Today’s edition of the Snyder Daily News includes both the Wednesday and Thursday editions.
Wednesday’s edition was made available online for free.
“We decided to publish an online-only newspaper Wednesday after road conditions were too hazardous for many of us to make it to work,” Publisher Bill Crist said.
“Production Manager Tony Bennett was able to pick a few of us up in his 4-wheel drive pickup and other employees worked remotely to produce an e-edition and put it online. We made it available for free because we wanted to make sure the community could read about the winter weather conditions and how they were impacting our hometown.”
Despite temperatures near zero and roads that were still icy, newspaper staff members were able to produce Thursday’s edition — which was printed as a combined edition with Wednesday’s.
“We won’t be able to get to all our subscribers and single-copy locations on Thursday, but we’ll get as many copies out today as we can. Home-delivery subscribers who don’t receive the Wednesday-Thursday edition on Thursday will receive it Friday, after driving conditions improve,” Crist said.
“We appreciate our readers’ patience and their help getting the word out about the free e-edition version of Wednesday’s paper,” he said. “I also can’t say enough about the newspaper employees who braved the elements to make sure our readers and this community had access to their local newspaper and the important news it brings to Snyder and Scurry County each day.”
