One of the Scurry County Museum’s largest annual fundraisers has grown to the point that it will take place at two different locations.
Chocolate Fest will be held from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 11 at Times Square Frozen Yogurt and CoffeeHouse and the 1818 Arthouse, which are both located on the downtown square. Attendees will receive a 2017 Chocolate Fest commemorative wine glass and be able to enjoy pairings of chocolates with white wines, red wines or chocolate beers and other snacks.
Scurry County Museum Executive Director Daniel Schlegel Jr. said all proceeds will benefit the museum.
“All benefits go to the museum. It’s one of our biggest fundraisers. I think it’s fun and so many people come out and enjoy it,” he said. “Basically for a $25 donation, people can either decide to attend an enjoyable night out at (Chocolate Fest) or just consider it a donation to the museum.”
Lorie Sealy will perform at the 1818 Arthouse and Marcus Rios will perform at Times Square.
Nathalie Kelley will paint a piece at the 1818 Arthouse during the event that will be sold during the silent auction.
“I’m just so excited because with the good weather, people are able to kind of walk back and forth between the two spots,” Schlegel said.
Tickets may be purchased at the Snyder Chamber of Commerce, Times Square, the museum or at the door.
