Fire started accidentally

  • Firefighter James Scott sprayed water on a grass fire in the 4400 block of FM 1607 that was called in to the Snyder Fire Department shortly after 11:30 a.m. Thursday. Several acres were burned and two abandoned vehicles and old bowling alley equipment were destroyed, but no injuries or other significant property damage was reported. The fire was ruled accidental in nature and no citations were issued, Deputy Fire Marshal Nathan Hines said.
