Members of Run Across America 2016 Beastmode for the Brave traveled through Snyder Monday during a cross-country run from California to New York.
“We are running to support our veterans,” said George Chmie. “PTSD is a real issue. We are raising money for our veterans. One suicide is too many.”
Beastmode for the Brave was created by U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle and U.S. Navy veteran Talon Smith to raise money for veterans.
Chmiel will run the entire way and has been joined by the other team members at various points on the route.
Other team members are Brian Fahmie, James Welch, Tucker Ballister, Dave Dundas and John Meaux.
Chmiel began running in San Diego on Sept. 11 and plans to run to New York — a total of 3,002 miles — raising money for veterans. He said they should complete the run in mid- or late-December.
Chmiel said the organization is now being run by Jeff Kyle, the brother of the late Chris Kyle.
