Hay rides, a pumpkin patch and soccer-related games will highlight the final Snyder Farmers Market of the year on Saturday at The Coliseum.
Although most of the traditional produce sold at the market is no longer in season, event coordinator Kiera Harris said there will be plenty of vendors and activities.
“A lot of our usual vendors are coming back and we will have some additional vendors,” Harris said. “We have spoken to several different civic groups like the Rotary Club and have been trying to spread the word.”
The Western Texas College turf and landscape program will sell snapdragons, pansies, dianthus and ornamental kale. The market will also feature hay rides and a pumpkin patch, where guests can buy pumpkins. Live music will be provided by Marcus Rios.
Like previous Snyder Farmers Markets, Saturday’s event is free to attend.
The farmers market will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be held in conjunction with Western Texas College’s Soctoberfest, which will also be held at The Coliseum.
Soctoberfest will feature soccer bowling, soccer tennis, a speed shot competition, face-painting and pumpkin fishing. Members of the WTC men’s and women’s soccer teams will be at the event. Like the farmers market, Soctoberfest will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is free.
Harris said the farmers market has been a success in its first year and said she hopes to make the last one of the year the best one.
“We have a lot of things going on,” Harris said. “We’re hoping this one is as big as the first one we had.”
