The Hermleigh ISD board of trustees approved the targeted improvement plan required by the state during Tuesday night’s meeting.
No one spoke during a public hearing on the plan, which will be forwarded to the Texas Education Agency (TEA). The board, in voting to approve the plan, will allow Superintendent Ronnie Roemisch to make any updates or revisions needed.
Roemisch said the plan will be posted on the school district’s website this week.
Trustees tabled the review of the annual audit because the auditing firm did not have it ready in time for the meeting. Roemisch said the audit findings will be presented during the Dec. 7 board meeting.
Also on Tuesday, the board approved the purchase of attendance credits from TEA because it is considered a Chapter 41 district. Roemisch reported that the district did not have to send a recapture payment to the state this year.
The board also allocated its 125 votes in the Fisher County Appraisal District board of directors election to the seven nominees.
Roemisch reported that the second six-weeks enrollment was 243, which is nine more than the 2014 total. He also said the district had four new students enroll this week.
The students of the second six-weeks were honored by the board. They were Levi Coleman, elementary grades, and Cameron Clement, secondary grades.
