Hermleigh man indicted for indecency with child

An 82-year-old Hermleigh man was indicted by a Scurry County grand jury this week for indecency with a child.
Jimmy Thomas was arrested on Sept. 14 after exposing himself in front of a child under the age of 17. Bond for the third-degree felony charge was set at $5,000.
Joe Lewis Alvarado, 31, of Snyder, was indicted for harassment of a public servant, a third-degree felony. On Sept. 25, Alvarado was arrested after spiting on Snyder police Officer Tanner Garcia while he was assisting with Alvarado’s arrest. Bond was set at $5,000.
The grand jury was told that Alvarado was convicted in 2005 in Scurry County for injury to a child.
