Snyder High School’s homecoming events will start with a parade Friday afternoon.

All Snyder ISD students will be released from school at 11:55 a.m., and the parade will begin at 1:30 p.m.

The parade will start on the Moffett Field parking lot. The route will run along Towle Park Road to Denison Ave. From there, it will run north to 42nd Street, east to Austin Ave. and then north to 38th Street.

Following the parade, a pep rally will be held at 2 p.m. at Tiger Stadium. During the pep rally, the 2017 homecoming king will be announced. Nominees are Braison Kuhl, Diego Lopez, Tristan Soliz, J.T. Nelson and Lance Davis.

From 5-7 p.m., the Pride of the West marching band will serve a meal in the high school cafeteria. The cost is $10 in advance or $12 at the door. The menu is enchilada casserole, beans, rice, salad, chips, salsa and sopapillas.

Western Texas College will hold a tailgate party at 6 p.m. for Snyder High School juniors and seniors and their parents. WTC will hand out snacks and drinks south of the multipurpose building.

During the pregame program, Snyder and Sweetwater high schools will present a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in honor of students who have received their wishes. Both schools raised money through penny wars this week.

The football game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. at Tiger Stadium. Tickets may be purchased at the athletic office for $5 before noon Friday or for $6 at the gate.

During halftime, the homecoming queen will be announced. Nominees are Skylar Hand, Gisselle Hernandez, Sara McClain, Kenzie Hunter and Kerrington Biggers.
