Hospital board members will learn about ADDing during a Wednesday meeting.
Not the kind done in a classroom, but in response to an active shooter.
Board members will hear a presentation on the “Avoid, Deny, Defend” (ADD) strategy for responding to active shooters in the workplace. Dr. David Kerr will give the presentation.
Kerr will also give the medical staff report and discuss credentialing of new appointee Dr. Rajesh Gogia and re-appointing Gerald Hargrave, a physician’s assistant.
Kerr will also give presentations relating to documents, policies and forms for emergency services and trauma, perinatal services, employee health, surgical services and ambulatory scope of services.
Chief Nursing Officer Kristi Hanley will share information on documents, policies and forms related to service animals and to the hospital’s quality manual.
Board members will also review several contracts, a compliance report and drug pricing program policies which limit the cost of outpatient drugs, called “340B” policies. Chief Executive Officer Ella Helms will appoint a safety officer for the hospital, which the board must approve, and give an update on inspections of buildings near the hospital and of hospital equipment.
Laboratory Director Bill Dickinson and Facilities Director Renie Gaydos will give an end-of-cycle report, as well as report on facility management compliance codes inspection for 2019.
A closed session is scheduled to discuss the health and safety code compliance report.
Any action from that discussion will be taken in open session. The meeting will begin at 8 a.m. in the administrative wing and is open to the public.
