The Scurry County Hospital District board of directors will vote on adding $2 million to its $10 million loan to complete the OB department renovation during Wednesday morning’s meeting.
The hospital district borrowed $10 million through First Bank and Trust for the current renovation projects. The administration will discuss and the board will vote on whether or not to add the $2 million.
The board will also vote on two tax abatement agreements, including a 10-year, 100-percent abatement for Midwest Solar Power, LLC. The Snyder City Council and Scurry County Commissioners’ Court approved similar abatements for the company earlier this year.
Midwest Solar Power’s Jim Chandler previously said he was investing $550,000 in a solar array in the SnTx Industrial Park on land owned by Big Country Electric Cooperative. Big Country has agreed to purchase the electricity generated by the array and to later purchase the equipment after the abatement and a 30 percent tax credit expire.
The second abatement is for Fluvanna Wind Energy, LLC. The commissioners’ court, last month, approved a 10-year agreement and the consent for the project. The hospital district board will vote on the same agreement Wednesday.
Directors are also scheduled to vote on 15 updates to the policies and procedures and 29 medical staff credentials, including 22 for members of the Direct Radiology staff in Dallas.
The board will vote on appointing the safety officer, infection control practitioner, quality management officer, OB medical director and environment of care chairman. Directors will also vote on the appointment of Janice Boil and Sandra Salinas to the Cogdell Memorial Hospital Foundation board of directors.
Reports from the finance, planning, nursing and administration departments will be presented to the board.
A closed session to discuss quality assurance will be held and any action will be taken in open session.
The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the hospital’s administration wing boardroom and is open to the public.
