A Midkiff man died Sunday as a result of an accident at a motorcycle race in Borden County.
Brent William King, 48, was involved in the wreck, which was reported to the Scurry County law enforcement center at 11:26 a.m. Sunday.
Scurry County EMS was on stand-by at the track, located at the Issaac’s Cattle Company and Circle Bar Ranch, and treated King. He was later transported to Cogdell Memorial Hospital.
Borden County Sheriff Benny Allison said a race was being held through canyons and King came to a hill and lost control of his motorcycle. Allison said King was wearing a helmet.
Scurry County Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace Norma Martinez was called to the hospital and said King was dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Martinez said she knew little about the accident.
The cause of death has not been released by the Borden County Sheriff’s Office.
