Monday is deadline for chamber banquet awards nominations

Monday is the deadline to submit nominations for community awards that will be presented during the annual Snyder Chamber of Commerce banquet. 
Among the honors to be bestowed is the McLaughlin Award, which is given to an individual who has made significant contributions to the oil industry, and the Winston Award, presented to a person who displays leadership and progressiveness in agriculture.
Other awards include:
• The Exemplary Service Award, which will go to an individual who promotes Snyder wherever they go.
• The Chamber’s Choice Award, given to the person who goes above and beyond for the chamber during the year.
• The Vestal Award, also known as the Mayor’s Award, will be presented to the individual who has made contributions to the development of Snyder through cultural, economic or government-related activities.
• The Sizemore Award, formerly known as the Gold Coater of the Year Award, is presented to the Gold Coat member who tallies the most points according to the group’s point system.
Also to be presented during the banquet will be the chamber’s Business of the Year and the Education Excellence Award, given to the individual for lifetime achievement in teaching at one of Snyder’s public schools.
Nominations may be submitted at the chamber office until 5 p.m. Monday..
