It’s been a wet couple of days for Scurry County residents.
A storm system passing through the area dumped 1.18 inches of rain at the National Weather Service reporting station at Winston Field Thursday. That, on top of Wednesday’s rain, brings the two-day total to 2.33 inches of precipitation.
Unofficial rain totals varied across the county. Residents in the Lloyd Mountain area northeast of Snyder recorded 4.5 inches of rain over the two-day period. Western Texas recorded 0.99 of an inch of rain, according to West Texas Mesonet.
Clearing skies and warmer temperatures are expected today and through the weekend. Today’s forecast calls for a high temperature of 51 degrees and a low near 40. Saturday and Sunday temperatures are expected to range between the low 70s and low 40s.
A slight chance of rain is forecast for Veterans Day Monday.
